South West Snails – Q&A

About Our Snails

What makes South West Snails unique?
South West Snails is Australia’s only supplier of fresh, live escargot. Unlike tinned or imported snails, our escargot are harvested fresh, purged, and shipped live, providing the best texture and flavour for culinary use.

What’s the difference between A-Class and B-Class snails?

  • A-Class snails are 8g or more and meet restaurant size requirements. However, they are currently sold out and will be unavailable for some time.

  • B-Class snails are 5–8g—slightly smaller but of the same premium quality. They are a superior alternative to tinned escargot and are currently available for purchase.

Are your snails farmed sustainably?
Yes! Our snails are grown in the South West of WA, in a Mediterranean climate ideal for their natural development. We follow ethical, sustainable farming practices to ensure the highest quality product.
