South West Snails is a family-run business located in the heart of Western Australia’s renowned food bowl, in the South West region. As Australia’s only supplier of fresh, live escargot, we are passionate about delivering a premium, locally sourced delicacy to chefs and restaurants across the country.

Our Story – A Dream Turned Reality

What began as a simple idea—a vision for a sustainable, farm-based business—has now become a thriving reality for owners Nick and Victoria Howe. In October 2022, alongside their three children, they embarked on their journey into snail farming, determined to produce the highest quality escargot available in Australia.

Situated on a 40-acre property in prime agricultural land, our farm is blessed with the rich soils and Mediterranean climate that create the perfect environment for snails to thrive, breed, and grow naturally. Through careful farming practices and a commitment to sustainability, we have steadily increased production and are on track to supply up to 50kg of fresh, live snails per week within the next two years.

The Only Source of Fresh Escargot in Australia

Unlike imported or tinned escargot, our snails are harvested fresh, purged, and shipped live, ensuring the highest level of quality, texture, and flavor. We currently specialize in:

• A-Class Escargot (8g+) – Currently sold out due to high demand

• B-Class Escargot (5–8g) – Available now, providing a fresh, high-quality alternative to tinned snails

With a strong focus on supplying gourmet restaurants across Western Australia, our goal is to make fresh escargot a staple in Australian fine dining.
